Episode 3: You Want Me to Change?

Neglecting Change Management is a common hiccup in Software Conversion Projects, and it’s a serious flaw.

One of the most common hiccups I see during the software conversion process is failure to prepare staff for the challenges of a software conversion. Especially in very hierarchical organizations with a strong top-down management style, it’s often just assumed that staff will simply adapt to the new software system. This is a very serious miscalculation. If staff are not prepared for the change, it not only increases the stress of the conversion itself…it can kill the entire project and lead to other serious problems like a mass staff departure or worse.

Fortunately, there are numerous Change Management methodologies to help you gain buy-in and prepare your staff for an upcoming software conversion. Check out this video for just a sampling of them; you’ll be amazed what even a simple WIIFM Frame will do for your conversion project!
